Silencing is looking over my shoulder and wants to know if you enjoyed her porn tidbit as well XD
I am! Although I’m not sure Watson is coming to Otakon this year—I’m going to have a table in Artist’s Alley, and sitting around with chest binding is no fun at all.
I almost never reblog, as a rule, but this is relevant to my art.
No, really.

I’m home sick today. Drawing Ron eating lots of greasy foods didn’t make me feel any better, but at least I can enjoy them vicariously through him.
NEW PRINTS FOR SALE. Sorry I’ve been dead—I’m working on a really big piece featuring Harold and Lucy Saxon hosting a very special tea party…. But for now, check out my Etsy shop for new prints! http://www.etsy.com/shop/myarmcanfly
Japaaaaaan! This was a really tough one to do, because the only coat of arms type of thing used by Japan, officially, is the Imperial Mon—a traditional crest used in Japan and China. The gold chrysanthemum round in the dragon and phoenix is the mon, so I had to decide on other ways to represent Japan. I settled on the very traditional dragon and phoenix, which have a long yin-and-yang history in Japanese art, but also the red-crowned crane, a bird that’s used to symbolize good fortune and longevity, and also appears almost to have the Japanese flag on its pretty little head.
So, basically, I had a lot of fun and freedom with this one.
That is all.
I have to say, I lol’d at the fact that Canada’s coat of arms is basically England’s…. plus maple leaves and a few fleurs de lis. I did try to change it up a bit to give Canada some individuality, but I do think that sticking to the official imagery is important for me.
The most fun, but also most time-consuming, coat of arms yet. The UK has a lot of things to say about itself.
It’s actually oddly difficult to play with symbols you know so well. Fun, but surprisingly hard.
Austria~
I’m not actually a Hetalia fan, but I love the idea, love heraldry, and have a lot of friends who are into it, so I’m whipping up a bunch of these as mini-prints for Otakon :)

valeriocostilla asked:
HOW DO YOU DO IT?! Every week I am taken back by your illustrations, they're all incredible. Especially the Pokemon vectors. Please, teach me your ways.
Sincerely,
Blown away.
D’aww <3 You’re too kind. I’ve spent the last two years or so really plumbing the depths of what I can make Illustrator do for me, and I think that everyone should try it out. It’s fun! I promise! Tedious, tedious fun for hours and hours and hours XD
Thank you so much for the love and support <3 It really means a lot to me.
